It's Hot.

It's hot.  Plain and simple.  And because this is my blog, and it is also kind of my journal right now, I get to write about just how hot it is and our adjustment to moving to SC.
It's not that Jordan and I have never been in the heat before.
I lived in Phoenix. Its hot it Phoenix.
I have lived in Ohio and Maryland. It's both hot AND humid in OH and MD.
Jordan servered his mission in San Diego, and for a good portion of it he was on the border of Mexico. In the Summer. And rode a bike everywhere. I am sure that is hot.

But for some reason we just can never remember being SO hot.

And that was taken in the middle of our drive, not right after getting in and the car was sitting in the sun, but after a good 15 minutes of driving around.

And right up there, yeah that says 100% humidity.  

If only someone could push me around while I slept in a comfy stoller. My poor girl just DRIPS whenever we leave the house. 

Houdini

Madilyn is Houdini.  I kid you not.  That little girl can squirm her way out of anything.
While we are waiting to move into our house we are sharing a bedroom with her.  This means that we have her sleeping in her swing or our bed.  Having her sleep in the swing is great.  SHE LOVES IT!  I love it because she can put herself to sleep.  The thing is we do not buckle her in because she sleeps swaddled.  Since she was a month old she has been able to get out of pretty much any swaddle, or at the very least wiggle her arms out.  This has never really been an issue before, sometimes it woke her up and we would have to re-swaddle her.  That worked up until last week.
This is what happens now.

She can FLIP OVER in her swing.  Jordan took this picture because she was still safe in the swing.  We have both walked in or woken up to her either flipping herself over the side or trying to slide her way down the front.

The first time I ever saw this she had gotten all the way out of her swaddle and had her feet about 2 inches from the ground and was LAUGHING up a storm when I walked in.

Little girl knows how to keep us on our toes.

Madilyn learns to feast upon the scriptures. Literally.

Madilyn is my alarm clock every morning.  When Jordan leaves for work in the morning she usually ends up in our bed and sleeps for a couple more hours.  At about 8 or so she starts babbling and hitting me with her arm.  So when I woke up the other day on my own I was a little surprised, thinking that I had woke up before her.

I was WRONG.

My little chatter box was WIDE awake.  Not only was she not making any noise, but she had somehow  crawled off the bed.  Yes, six months old and went from the bed to the floor unharmed, and silently.  Thats not even the kicker.  She also got Jordan's scriptures which were next to her and opened them up for a little morning scripture study.  I guess she took, "Feast upon the words of Christ" a litte to seriously.

When she noticed me looking at her she had the biggest grin.  

And the next day when I changed her diaper there was a special message left for me. 

Oh, and she left it on the carpet. At grandpa's.

So I tried this whole blog thing a couple of months ago and well.... this is my second post.

Since then a couple of exciting things have happened.

We graduated!
We spent a month traveling around the country visiting family and friends.
We moved to Aiken, South Carolina.
Jordan started working for Shaw.
I got accepted to USC.
Madilyn has been on 11 plane rides now.
We put an offer on a house and now we are waiting to close.
Madilyn can now crawl and say mama, and sometimes dada, but only when she is really excited about seeing her daddy or I talk about him coming home from work.

Things we are looking forward to this summer.
Playing with goofy Madilyn.
Beach trips!
Moving into our house.
Start renovating and decorating our house.
Planting my first garden. ( our house has a huge fenced off area for one already!)
Buying chickens!
Visiting my old roommate and great friend who lives in Atlanta with her family.
Molly comes home from her mission and Madilyn and I are flying back to Utah to see her!

Needless to say life with Madilyn is fun! And we are loving the stage of life we are in.
